This qualification reflects the role of individuals with substantial experience in a range of settings who are seeking to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions. This qualification is also suited to the needs of individuals with little or no vocational experience, but who possess sound theoretical business skills and knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further educational and employment opportunities.
BSB50215 DIPLOMA OF BUSINESS
A Diploma of Business will be awarded upon successful completion of this course. This will be suited to the following job roles:
- Executive officer
- Program consultant
- Program coordinator
There are no prerequisite units required for this qualification. However it is expected that participants have English language, literacy, and numeracy skills equivalent to at least Year 12 level. Intermediate computer skills are also required for entry into this qualification.
Participants may choose to undertake an LLN assessment with one of our qualified assessors prior to committing to their enrolment in this qualification.
UNITS OF COMPETENCY
This qualification is customisable to suit the needs of individual participants and includes a total of 8 units. During the enrolment process, participants will work with our experienced trainers to develop an individual learning plan based on the following 8 elective units.

This qualification is available through face to face or self-paced distance learning. Participants may choose to receive their learning and assessment resources in hard copy or online.
Everyone learns at different rates therefore the duration of the course will vary from person to person. As a guide, participants should allow approx. 30 – 40 hours to complete each unit.
Participants with access to a workplace may contextualise some of their assessment tasks to their workplace. Participants without access to a suitable workplace will be given case studies, practical activities and projects based on a simulated workplace.
Participants with similar qualifications or extensive experience in this field may apply for a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment. This alternate assessment method may reduce the amount of time required to complete this qualification and may reduce the cost. Refer to RPL for more information.
Preferred pathways for participants entering this qualification include:
- BSB40212 Certificate IV in Business or other relevant Certificate IV qualifications; or
- With vocational experience in a range of work environments in senior support roles but without a qualification
Suggested pathways for further study after completion of this qualification include:
- BSB60407 Advanced Diploma of Management; or
- Other relevant Advanced Diploma qualifications
